Meet 30 year old Ricardo, a Brazilian who is on an African-countries tour from Brazil.

Guess what is amazing about his journey, he is touring on a bicycle. Yes, he intends to Cycle across Africa.

From his native Brazil, He flew to Spain where the bicycle journey started.

Nine months after, he is in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State having cycled through North Africa from Spain.

He has so far visited 13 African countries and says he has about 12 left before he returns to Spain and back to Brazil, his country of origin. On his bike is a sticker of the flag of every African country he has cycled to.

Ricardo claims he isn't expecting any "reward" for the daring adventure as he sold his car, quit his job to fund the journey.

As seen from the pictures, he is here to board a bus to Calabar (07-12-2015), from where He will continue to cycle to Cameroon in continuation of his journey.

Though travelling light, Ricardo is fully stocked with the basic things he needs. A map of African countries, few Cloth items, his full bicycle repair kit, two extra tyres, a pump, his Brazilian passport, a camping tent (in which he sleeps at night) constitute the bulk of his luggage.

When pressed on if he's keeping in touch with his family, he said he calls his parents, though not in any way frequent and that his only sister was not even aware when he embarked on the journey.

Nigerians beg for money too much was the response he gave when asked about his experience so far with Nigerians in Nigeria. Coincidentally not long after, a Nigerian came around to beg him for money just minutes after.

However, as characteristic of Nigerians as well, he was offered a book as gift which he politely declined because he intends to travel as light as he could. In his words, if he collected all the gifts he has since being offered in his journey, it would become a burden.

Ricardo is single
