I was so amazed when reading the history of the royal court in kano.. to find out that since more than 800years the hausa royal court is so organize in terms of administration.. am particularly fascinated about the royal court slsves their positions and functions
The most important royal slaves in kano are
SALLAMA: who is a kind of protocol officer to the king
DANRIMI: who is in charge of armour.. he is the head of all royal slaves
SHAMAKI: horses are important to hausa as means of prestige and to aid in warfare..he is the head of the royal court stable
SARKIN DOGARAI:the kings cheif security officer
FIGINI: office was introduce by king rumfa in the 14th century.. he is in charge of fanning the king
SARKIN ALGAITA: incharge of royal trumpet
ZAGAGE: zagage were royal slaves introduce by king abdullahi burja in13th century due to constant warfare he needs spare horses incase orders were weak.. main f function is to hold emirs spare horses
MASU KIRARI: the praise singers or griots are central to hausa culture.. main function is to chant emirs praise... May you live long, king of kings etc...

But the most important aspect which i find cruel is that since 13th century this royal slaves are castrated to secure their full loyalty to the emir.. since they have no family whatsever to fend for

No wonder british initiate indirectly rule in this part of the country.. the place was so organized
