Private Universities In Nigeria Disenfranchising Nigerian Youths From Voting by Anniwil(m): 10:26pm
Fellow NIgerians and citizens of thought.
I just watched the Verdict on Channels TV tonight and was pleased to note that Nigerian Youths (students) make up the highest registered voters for 2019 elections.Even though, that can be subjected to a debate, the fact that some positive statistics regarding the Nigerian Students for this election following a prolonged strike and the hardship this categories of Nigerians face gave me some relief.
I am deeply concerned that some people in this bracket of the voting population will be denied their franchise because they are in private universities.Notable among this two are Madonna University and Covenant University. These Universities have not indicated or informed these Nigerians that they would be released to vote for their candidates 72 hrs to the elections. This is disenfranchisement in all its forms and the refusal or passive disposition of these schools' management should be thoroughly condemned.
Madonna,Covenant and other Private Universities, some registered voters have to travel at least 19 hrs on bus to get to their voting units and vote, please release these students ASAP to do the needful..This is daylight robbery!!!
I am not pro-any candidate.I just want to use this capable medium to spread the word to the Chancellors and school management's team and if possible INEC...Help these young `NIgerians and allow them go home to vote.\
FELLOW NAIRALANDERS!!!PLEASE HELP SPREAD THIS WORD BY LIKING AND REBROADCASTING..
Thank you.

What a beautiful day today as Jumia vendor set to give 50% discount price of some particular product powered by atiku's movement. Some product like executive icon perfume for atikulated men and lady magnifique for atikulated women. The executive icon perfume has been selected specially for the men due it's unique fragrance and of course as it's name implies "icon", we would say that alh. Atiku abubakar is an icon of respect and justice that has come to rescue Nigerians from all problems and pain brought by the past regime. This product can only be purchased from Jumia best selling vendor of store name "Billionaires exclusive" and this offer is valid till stock last. More also it has being randomly observed that over 14 millions people trade on Jumia of which a great number of people are in support of the PDP government. so what are you waiting for, let us all join together and support Atiku's movement and let Love heal the world. God bless Nigeria. VOTE ALJ. ATIKU ABUBAKAR, PDP Presidential candidate.
Fellow Nairalanders,

Nairaland loves Igbos and Niger Deltans very much. The thought of being separated from them for any reason is unbearable to us, so we have decided that we will reject any attempt by anyone to use Nairaland to promote the idea of removing Igbos and Niger Deltans from Nigeria.

We have updated rule 9 of Nairaland to reflect this decision. It now says:

I'd like to urge all Nairaland members to respect and obey rule 9. Mynd44 is in charge of enforcing it. If you break this rule, you'll be banned.

Thanks,
Seun (Founder Of Nairaland).

Seun,
Very very very wrong. People have a right to agitate for what they consider to be their rights. Your arbitrary decision to muzzle this right is to say the least stunning. I'm non Igbo but I believe that if the Yoruba and Hausa look down on the Igbos then they might as well let them go. Unless you have received email from DSS then you must share with us so we know who to hold responsible if nairaland goes down or you disappear

That is the truth
EmoBoy:
1. You Nigerians complain and agree that the country is not united but are opposed to people who are agitating to form a country free from these problems
2. Like Sweetguy25 said in his thread, Yoruba and hausa are the only two tribes enjoying this scam called Nigeria. Igbos and their sisters in the Nigerian Delta don't gain anything by being Nigerians. The only reason Yoruba are happy being Nigerians is because the development of Nigeria is taking place in their region.
3. Nigeria does Not love the Igbos and Niger Deltans. Please remove that statement from. The Riverine environment of the Niger Delta has been destroyed from oil activities that bankrolls the country. Yoruba and Hausa don't care.

How to prevent sunburn on election day.

Voting day is around the corner and with the joy of choosing a new person in office comes the constant exposure to sunrays for a whole day.

here are a few tips to prevent sunburn from excess exposure to the sun.

drink enough water, wear sunscreen, stay out of direct sunlight, wear the right clothing, use accessories and stay in the shade when possible.

1. Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate. you will need to drink as much water as possible to keep your skin hydrated.

2. .Wear Sunscreen; Select an appropriate SPF. A sunscreen's SPF measures how well it protects your skin from UVB rays compared to not wearing it. For example, if it normally takes 20 minutes for your skin to turn red, a product with SPF 15 will typically prevent sunburn for 15 times longer. You should use a product that has an SPF of at least 15.

3. Stay out of the sun during peak hours. The sun’s UV rays are strongest between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., so that’s when you’re at the greatest risk of getting a sunburn. If you stay inside during midday, you can avoid these dangerous rays and protect your skin. Schedule your outdoor activities, such as walking the dog or mowing the lawn, before 10 or after 4 whenever possible.

4. Wear the right clothes. Sometimes, you have to go outside even during the sun’s peak hours, so the key to preventing sunburn is covering yourself with appropriate clothing. Long-sleeve shirts and pants cover more of your skin than tank tops and shorts, so they can help block the sun. The more skin that your clothing covers, the more protected you'll be.

5. Use accessories to protect your head and eyes.
The right hat is not only stylish, but can protect your scalp from a possible sunburn. Make sure to throw on a pair of sunglasses before you head out the door as well because it can be difficult to apply sunscreen around the eye area

6.Stay in the shade. When you have to go outdoors, choose areas where the sun doesn’t reach, such as beneath a large, leafy tree. If you go to a spot where there isn’t much natural shade, such as the beach, bring an umbrella, portable canopy, or tent that can shield you from the sun
