Ipaja and Akowonjo business unit are not appropriately responding to a fallen live wire that has been left on the ground all day. Despite assurances that they will make safe no staff has visited to make safe.

We don't want our children's safety to be compromised.

This is not the change we signed up for.

Apparently this is a common occurrence and IKEDC staff will not attend to it until people make contribution for them.

It cannot be business as usual we all need to be agents of change. Protection of human life must count for something.

na 9ja we dey...until there's casualty

We have to start holding each other to account.

They have finally attended to it. Why did they leave the dangerous wire for over 24 hours, we are told they did not have about a yard of 16mm aluminium wire about 200 naira. It really is shameful if they are failing to provide such minimal supplies which had to be supplied by the community.

We are going forward and then backwards. The one day on and one day off worked well for about 6 weeks. The last month has seen us go back to the period before and after the election. Today is an on day and after about an hour we now no longer have light.

We are back to using petrol every night and local businesses are again beginning to suffer.


Shop owners that live in Ipaja tell us they have 3 days on and 1 day off and this is within the same business unit. What has the Ayobo done or need to do to be treated as bona fide members of the IKEDC family.

I have decided to make power one of my projects and will begin to keep a record of power outage for my area.

Damn! When are we gonna learn in Nigeria. We are becoming a pitiful country.

Na so we see am. On what should be an on night dey take light at 17.51pm and bring it back past midnight 00.15am such that you end up using the generator every night. To me it looks like some collusion is going on between the power sector and petroleum.

Fashola really has his work cut out. There are so many things to lookt at before the tariff increase he was talking about yesterday.

They appear to be considering a two tier system. Those that can pay more get priority. Eko disco is ptoblematic for them cos no light no money for them as most are onprepaid meter.

As a side issue all these night vigil places of worship no let person sleep.
