In the United Kingdom, Scientist have confirmed the existence of a new sexually transmitted disease called mycoplasma genitallium. Confirmation of the bacterial disease, which causes painful urination among other things, as an STD. This is coming more than two decades after it was first discovered.

After conducting a national survey of the sexual lifestyles and attitude of British men and women, a team of 14 researchers arrived at a conclusion. The researchers said the study which involved testing urine of 4,507 sexually experienced participants aged 16 - 40 years for MG strengthened evidence that MG is an STI.
