The Oukitel K10000 comes with the largest battery I have ever seen on a smartphone. While some people will argue that the battery capacity is too much and having 10000mAh of battery is excessive, you will all agree that seeing a low battery icon on your statusbar is one of the most annoying aspects of using a smartphone.

Most smartphones these days never exceed 5000mAh. Some while back, Infinix gave us the Infinix Hot Note which featured an incredible 4000mAh and the whole Nigeria went wild. Oukitel, a Chinese company is out to top that and has released an incredible phone sporting a massive 10000mAh battery which they claim can last up to 15 days on a single charge with average usage. While that claim might be enticing, you should know that Sony’s latest Android device, the Xperia Z5, can only get about two days fuel from its 2900 mAh battery. Following that logic, the maximum amount of time the K10000 can run on a single charge is a much more believable 6 days.

It seems that Oukitel skimps out on the other specs of the K10000 to make the phone cheap enough to buy. A measly 1ghz processor just does not cut it for me and a 16GB internal memory is not enough these days.

As expected, the device looks bulky thanks to its oversized battery. The phone looks solid and well built though. You can’t get the K10000 at retail stores like Jumia or Konga yet but you can preorder it on Gearbest for $239.99 which is about 48,000 naira.
