The COAS did no wrong, abeg. I changed my view after watching that video. Those shiite deserved what they got with the way they harrassed the Army which is a strong institution in Nigeria. Its as bad as an attack on the president!
do you know something similar happened during gej tenure last year and it was tagged 'genocide by jonathanian army'and ihejirika was asked to step down by northern elders.they ve all suddenly gone dump.

Justifying the killing of over 1,000 Nigerians will not do you good nor the Nigeria Army any good either. The countries you quoted will rather use tear gas or rubber bullet than not only killing those on ground but also going to their centre to kill more.

I am laughing in mandarin

US will do theirs without a single press coverage and every iota of it will be blotted out from the press.

Th atrocities of US on unarmed Iraqis says it all.

Iran, Russia and China will do theirs openly without giving me hoot about whose ox is gored.

History is there to back up the claim.

[b]honestly speaking, what happened on the road is very much irrelevant. Both sides are wrong there.

What is relevant to me is that the army used the earlier road incident as excuse/cover up/pretext to launch two assaults at the worship center and at the cleric's home. During the siege and raid many were killed and the structures got demolished. These are crimes against humanity committed and human rights violations. No one really care that the army reacted -by taking law into their hands -to road block and many understand that the blocking of road and confronting soldiers who don't value lives is wrong. The problem is the siege on the house and the hussainiyyah.

Many are distracted by what happened on the road. The army is using the road incident to cover up their assault on and demolition of the house and hussainiyyah. Many lives were wasted. That is wrong and unjustifiable even under military rule.

The siege and assault on the home and worship center came after the road incident had ended. Why?

The COAS should please not resign. He should either remain and continue to tarnish the image of the APC government and the image of the country, or let him be sacked immediately and punished for his crimes. This is a democracy and no one should be a victim of religious persecution. Citizens should be free to choose what beliefs they want to follow.

He should be sacked immediately. This is not the time to tarnish the country's image.

Imagine the Shiite group insisting the General convoy turn back under the authority of their leader, thats amazing. Let's not become cowards because of bokoharam, pple must learn to be civil, how can any Nigerian block any road in Nigeria and ask the COAS turn back because of their procession, that's how militia groups started in Somalia and today that country is completely lawless with each warlord holding unto communities thereby making the country ungovernable. All leaders must instruct their followers to be civil. I would have been disappointed if the COAS had turned back. It's annoying that while driving on a major in Nigeria, a group of pple will block the road and expect u to wait until they are done with whatever they are doing. Apart from other civilians caught up in the process, the group deserve what they got.

Good observation here. Many will be too partisan to see it this way.
