Where Are The Female Prominent Lawyers? by Flakky26(f): 2:30pm On Dec 17, 2015
Am just thinking aloud. How come we don't have prominent female lawyers. We are used to prominent male lawyers in the likes of Late Gani

fawehimi, Late Rotimi Williams , Bayo ojo,Bamidele Aturu,Barr Jimoh Ibrahim, Joseph Daodu ,Bar Ozekhome and so on. mostimes these male

lawyers are lead counsels to top politicians.I cant remember any politician having a female as a lead counsel. what could be responsible for our

female lawyers not coming to limelight. could it be that we have few female lawyers? or female lawyers are not competent ? or female lawyers

are not courageous to come to lime light ? lets talk, what is your view?

Well it is not due to incompetence in any way but I think most Female lawyers in Nigeria prefer to go the bench and work in government ministries, corporate bodies, firms, banks et all. This is due to the fact that private practise in Nigeria is really burdensome and women generally won't be able to cope unlike their male colleagues.
