Woman stabs pregnant woman to death

It was tears and sorrow at 43, Victory Lane, Benin City , l when a 33-year-old pregnant woman, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwachukwu was on Thursday night stabbed to death by her closed door neighbour, simply identified as Mama [b]Chinonye, who was also pregnant. 

Mama Chinonye was said to have stabbed the deceased inside her kitchen with a new kitchen knife she had bought on Wednesday.   

Neighbours, who pleaded anonymity, said that the sad incident happened between 7:30pm and 8:00pm after a minor quarrel between the two women.

gathered that both women lived in the same house and their kitchens are adjacent to each other.   

The deceased, a fashion designer, who specialised in the sewing of doors and windows blind, was said to have been rushed to two private hospitals where she was rejected because of the severe bleedings.   

She was later taken to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) where witnesses said the doctors said there was nothing they could do to save her life as the knife used cut through to her heart leading to internal bleeding. She died at about 2:00am yesterday.   

Husband of the deceased, Mr. Sunday Nwachukwu, who said he was a businessman, disclosed that they had been married for 12 years and had three children from the marriage. 

Weeping like a baby at the sight of his wife’s photograph, Nwachukwu said his late wife never complained to him about any previous quarrel she had with the culprit.   

He said his wife was killed right in front of their 11-year-old daughter, who was present at the scene of the crime.   

Narrating how the sad event happened, he said: "I was in my shop when my daughter used my wife’s phone to call me that Mama Chinonye had stabbed my wife to death. Before I came, they were already taking her to the hospital and there was blood everywhere.   

"On the way to the hospital, I was asking my wife what happened and she faintly told me that the woman came to meet her inside the kitchen and plunged the knife into her chest. I have been living in this house for the past 12 years, and now, this woman who just came eight months ago killed my wife," he lamented.   

He said Mama Chinonye had attempted to run away but was arrested at the motor-park trying to board a vehicle to the eastern part of the country. 

He said the husband to the woman had also tried to run away with their two kids but was prevented by neighbours. [/b]

What hope do we have in that country? Bleeding patient rejected cause of bleeding?
What is supposed to be the work of those doctors and hospitals? Is stopping bleeding not part of thier work?
The police should hold the hospitals and the doctors where she was rejected accountable for her death with the lady who perpetrated such a dastardly act.
The Nigerian medical council should also withdraw the licence of the doctors and stop them from practising. If they cant stop bleeding, they cant save lives so why practise medicine?

Naija is our country and I think we are all allowed to shout about it, the fact that it happens in everywhere all over the world doesn't make it right.

more likely money didnt come upfront. most clinics in naija are glorified abortion clinics though

A guy was stabbed in my area 2 years ago. He was rushed to 3 hospitals. The 1st 2 rejected him on the ground of police report, the 3rd hospital demanded for immediate payment of 50k. He died while guys were looking for the 4th hospital that would not be mean like the rest.

Abeg tek am easy. If a major artery is severed very few or no hospital in the world can save you. How come the same nigerian doctors are working overseas. They need to be properly equipped.
But what type of culture brings up women to do this to one another.
