The Fernandez house is Located at No 6, Tinubu Square in the heart of Lagos Island, where Nigeria’s central business district is located, and surrounded by picturesque edifices; the Fernandez house is hard to miss. The ancient Brazilian architecture building is a legacy of the thousands of freed slaves who returned to Nigeria in the 19th century. The house is called Fernandez house, built in 1846 which serves as a residence and a slave tortured house. Us blacks sold our own brothers and sisters to the slave masters. Many chiefs and kings from tbe riverine areas are as guilty as the white men who sailed the ship long long ago. |
