Nigeria has yet to decide whether to join a Saudi-led alliance to fight the militant group Islamic State, a spokesman for PMB said on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia announced a 34-nation Islamic military coalition, a move welcomed by the United States, which has been urging greater regional efforts to push back Islamic State, now in control of large parts of Iraq and Syria.

However, there has been confusion over the initiative, with some of the countries named as members of the coalition caught unawares by the announcement.

A list published by the Saudi state news agency included Nigeria, which, with other West African states, is battling homegrown militants in the form of Boko Haram, a group that like Islamic State wants to carve out a territory ruled by Islamic law.

"Nigeria has been formally invited to be a member of the alliance and President Buhari is looking into it," Buhari's spokesman Garuba Shehu in the first official comment from Abuja. "A decision to join has not been taken yet. Nigeria is not in or out."(Reporting by Felix Onuah; Writing by Ulf Laessing; Editing by Kevin Liffey)

Nigeria is always neutral in a case like this, though, we can support the cause of UN or AU force

Just say you people tried to join but didn't know that the reaction would as this.
If una carry Nigeria join any confuse organisation, as Saudi say they are against ISIS and Iran say same but are yet enemies, we go form our own movement against confused Islam agenda.
I have realised that these two countries don't want peace with each other and there is nothing good about been between their bullets.
we will clean our shit ourselves after whooping the backside that produced it.

This is not about voting and there is nothing about being neutral here.

It is either Nigeria is "IN" or "OUT" because it involves contribution of Soldiers and monetary commitments.
