I need to buy i generator against next year, i have been told diesel gen is cheaper but the cost of diesel is higher than petrol. So which do i go for?

Depends on what u intend to use it for? Yes diesels are better especially if you are to use it for heavy duty chores like freezers,ac,piumps etc. the tend to last longer than petrol gen. but that again depends on the usage, Petrol gen are not really recommended for heavy duty cuz petrol burns faster and is lighter than diesel. I dnt really know the exact term to use here sha. . So if you are forthcming on what exactly u intend to use it foR u would be geting better advice specific to your needs. So

i just want to use it at home for general domestic use not that i run a factory or a business but i noticed that most people still use petrol even though petrol generators cost more but petrol is cheaper and burns faster than diesel. What do you reckon?

Again, it depends on your load. If you have a decent sized load (ACs, freezers, heaters, etc) running for an extended period of time, diesel is the way to go. Lighter loads, lesser run time, then "petrol".

Hi am David,Go for diesel generator.Diesel is fuel efficient "a 5kva diesel generator would last you for 10 - 15 hours, depending on your load" and thats ideal for a flat.And if you have a skilled technician. I can get you an ideal one for a good price and a technician too.
