According to UN, Nigerian population increased from less than 50 Million in 1950 to 182 Million in 2015 placing Nigeria presently as the world's 7th most populous nation.

Nigeria is forecasted to be world's 3rd most populous nation in 2050 with a population of 399 Million only behind China and India. In 2100, Nigeria population will be 752 Million.

Your thoughts please good or bad.

Personally my thought is that this can be a blessing if well managed. Nigeria can become a China in the real sense of it. Destination for investment and trade.

This will require massive investment in infrastructure: Power, transportation, health care, sound government policies.

Human resource development will also be a key factor.

Do good for good to come your way

We grow in population,
we grow in corruption,
we grow in lack of fundamental human rights,
we grow in lack of basic education,
we grow in lack of social amenities,
we grow in lack of rule of law,
we have fuel but we lack access to it.
We grow in lack of quality and creative thinking leaders.
We grow in population but not productive

This naija don taya me sef.

Must you play tribal card here? What about Yoruba man with 4 wives and 19 children? What of SE man with 6 children or an Ijaw man with 8 children?

I think it's high time we looked at our population growth projections side by side with our resources. Can we really afford to take care of 250 million people and above? Where would we house them? Lagos is already saturated. Do we wait till all the major cities are saturated too?

I agree with you partly because with better housing and town planning we can accommodate the whole of present lagos in an area less than 1/4 of it present area.

We need to build new town , build high and build much...
