Meekness is often regarded as one of the virtues required for greatness. It's also constantly recommended as a vital attribute needed to subdue retrogressive and negative forces. However, the history of mankind from time immemorial do not seem to support an overstretched imbibing of this attribute. If there's anything most vociferous critics of Jonathan would agree with, it was his display of uncommon meekness and civility both in private and official carriages. Unfolding event in the past 7 months is however pointing to the fact that the ex-president's strongest attribute is beginning to become his albatross and if care is not taken Jonathan would go down into oblivion as the worst president that ever ruled Nigeria no thanks to the campaign of calumny and character assassination been mounted against him by Buhari, Lai Mohammed, Tinubu, Oshiomole, Sagay, Ameachi and the entire APC leadership. No doubt Jonathan had his shortcomings just like any other leaders that have ruled the nation the rate at which he's been singled out as the sole architect of our national problems calls for concern.
How do we match the comment of a prominent northern leader, Sagay who sarcastically "advised" Jonathan to confess his sins to the saint of our time, Mohammadu Buhari who's gradually been revered as a Messiah whose garment is as white as a snow? Curiously, it was reported some weeks ago that one of Sagay's sons had headed for enlistment as a member of ISIS. On what moral ground is this SAN condemning the person of Jonathan? Agreed, Jonathan's govt might have indulged in some corrupt acts, singling him out as the most corrupt and condemnable leader is a crime many of his accusers had committed in the past. For record purpose, the present president, Buhari had at a time defended Abacha as a corruption free leader. One of the reasons Buhari seized power in 1983 was the alleged act of monumental corruption carried out by Alh. Shehu Shagari and his govt. Today, not only is Shagari walking free as an ex president, he's also been celebrated as an elderstateman. Why is Jonathan now been demonised by all and sundry?
Just yesterday, Lai Mohammed had the temerity to premise the ongoing protracted fuel hike and economic woes which has seen the naira plummeting to its lowest ebb from N145/dollar when Jonathan was in power to its present N180/dollar valuation on the ex-president's administration "sins.". It's amusing that a corrupt and clueless Jonathan govt was able to substantially stabilize the naira and also grew our economy to the largest in Africa, a feat never achieved hitherto but we now have a govt that portrayed itself as "the progressives" almost grinding the nation to a halt.

It's from above background that many of Jonathan's admirers are calling on the ex president to halt his deafening silence and defend himself from the vindictive satanic, condemnable and immoral tantrums been splashed to his face by characters who ordinarily should never be seen in the corridors of power talk less of been heard in the public. Jonathan should as a matter of urgency speak up on the corruption allegations which Buhari is now professional using to cover up his administration's ineptitude, incompetence and gross nativity. Even if some of the allegations are true, the president should be seen putting up a robust argument to justify some of the decisions he took while in office. In as much as he's not linked to any act that directly enriched his pocket, Jonathan should speak up and shut down these lousy mouths.

Nigeria is a country filled with hypocrites and "chichidodos".

A chichidodo is a bird (mythical) that hates faeces with passion but feeds on maggots that emerge from faeces. This is exactly what a vast majority of Nigerians are - Buhari included.

Buhari happily worked for one of the most despotic and corrupt governments in the history of the world, he defended the government at all times even after it ceased to exist. It is extremely embarrassing that such a person would have the a moral standing and talk about anticorruption or even fight corruption. Buhari has been a beneficiary of corruption all his entire life.

How would catholics feel if they found out the Pope once happily worked in an abortion clinic? How they would feel is the same way Buhari fans and all Nigerians should feel about President Buhari.

Please enough with all this rubbish write ups. Jonathan ruled in a period of six years, and most of them, oil was selling at all time high record of about $100 dollars per barrel. Because of that high price crude oil, even with all the looting going on, the naira still mainlining its value not because of any special magic or due diligence. If the administration had really done a good job, naira should have even appreciated and our external reserve should have quadrupled. With all the high oil prices of about five years, Nigeria has nothing to show for it because all the money was looted.

While it may be true that we expect this present administration to stop giving is excuses and clear the mess on ground, it is also completely false to say the last administration is not responsible for the mess on ground: this quagmire in which we find ourselves as a a nation. if the last Administration is not responsible, then who is responsible. is this new government which is just seven months old?

Sound and intuitive reasoning. Nigerians are expecting someone who labelled the fight against Boko haram as a fight against the north to foster a united nation. It's impossible.

We are a nation of highly religious but utterly ungodly people. Can you swear by your name that Jonathan's 6-year rule could not be associated with any meaningful development? Search your conscience. No matter what anybody says, he's still the best president Nigeria has ever had.

The bad that Jonathans Administration did to Nigeria by far outweighs the good many times over. So how do you wish us to clsassify such an Administration: as a good one or a a bad one.

i doubt if there is any administration that does not have a few good things. It is the combination of the amount of good and bad and the final outcome that matters.

Pls endeavour to highlight those "bad things" Jonathan did which were different from the ones done by Buhari (in his first stint as a military head of state), IBB, Abacha. Abdusallam, Obasanjo and even the late Yaadua. Buhari who's now been revered as Mr. Corruption Fighter and "man of integrity" once said Abacha was not corrupt. Singling out Jonathan for slaughter is an injustice to mankind and gross disservice God.

I believe you very strongly. Those using Jonathan's meekness to rubbish him would soon meet their Waterloo as God Almighty lives.
