My grandmother used to tell me about the pig semen dumplings popular in her village during the holidays. She said collecting the semen was an considered an honor but by the time she was a young woman few young people did it without complaining as the pigs sometimes would kick. Many peoples are ignorant of the long history of cuisine utilizing seminal and/or vaginal fluids. My doctoral dissertation at the Free University of Budapest was entitled "Carnal Cuisine: An Examination of Semenophagy and Related Culinary Practices in Pre-Christian European Cultures". Unfortunately, this is the only comprehensive work I know to document the extensive history of ritual semen consumption in early Central European cooking, but it has not yet been translated into English. Hopefully your book will spark a revival of interest in the traditional use of sexual fluids in cooking as well as in those scrumptious semen and vaginal juice pastries so popular today in some rural parts of the continent.

Most people aren't aware that many cultures around the world have utilized either human or animal semen in cuisine to some extent or another. While these traditions may have disappeared from the average dinner table, it is still possible to get an old-fashioned bull semen pudding in parts of the Balkans and lunar new year in many rural Nordic areas wouldn't be complete without the beloved sugar cookies topped with human semen icing. I don't know if this book addresses any of these very widespread but little known recipes as well but it is good to hear that cooking semen is finally making a comeback!!

You can relax. I agree with you that is is wrong to add semen or anything else your guests might not want to eat to their food. This line is from the first page of the book:

"This cookbook is written for consenting diners of semen. Please do not add semen to your guest's food without informing them beforehand."

To James: Thank you for clarification on the risk of HIV spreading via eaten semen. Semen does have nutritional value, although more sugar than protein. But you are right about the quantity need to achieve any measurable nutritional value. The main point of adding semen to your food is that it is fun. Fun and tasty!
