The Nigerian eclipsed Troy Deeney’s record to become the first Hornets player to score in five successive English topflight games

Odion Ighalo has set history as the first
Watford player to score in five consecutive in the English Premier League.

The Super Eagles forward was on target
against Chelsea in Saturday’s English
topflight encounter.
Ighalo was not closed down as he dribbled into the box and his left-footed strike deflected off Cahill, wrong-footing Courtois and sneaking inside the near post.
“We fought to the end. We knew we would
get something from the game if we kept on like that,” he said after the game.
His brace against Liverpool last week saw
him equal Deeney’s record few days after
becoming the Hornets’ highest goalscorer
ever in the English Premier League.
The 26-year-old now boasts of 13 goals in
18 appearances for his side this season has weighed in with two assists.

The Nigerian has a record of 115.5 minutes per goal in the English top-flight this term.
Watford are seventh on the log with 29
points from 18 games and will host
Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.
