The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) is set to protest the looming removal of fuel subsidy proposed by the federal government, calling all its state councils and affiliate unions to get ready. This was revealed in a statement by the General Secretary of the NLC, Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson,on Tuesday, where he said that the NLC was determined to fight the surreptitious removal of the fuel subsidy.
He said that a meeting of the National Executive Committee of the congress would be convened in January, although he did not reveal the date.
The NLC’s scribe wondered why opposition politicians who encouraged the mass action against the former administration to remove the fuel subsidy were now agitating for its removal. Ozo-Eson argued that the removal of the fuel subsidy without the capacity to refine crude oil for local consumption would unleash hardship on workers and indeed the average Nigerian. He said the different pump prices for fuel recently announced by the Minister of State for Petroleum, Mr. Ibe Kachikwi, were meant to confuse Nigerians to remove the fuel subsidy.

Will the protest amount to much? If the tyrannical Buhari can violate a court order that directed him to release Nnamdi Kanu 'unconditionally' is it a protest from 'hungry' Nigerian workers hE would honour.. Lai Mohammed will simple come out and tag them loyalists of the opposition PDP and see them as interpreting the script of PDP...

What exactly is the problem? The FG has said petrol will be sold at #86(eighty six naira). So if with subsidy we sold at 87, isn't it better we remove subsidy full of scam and sell at 86
