I need to connect my HP Elitebook 8440p with my new Samsung 4K TV.
The problem here is that the laptop comes with only a single DisplayPort with no HMDI port. My TV supports an array of 4 HDMI ports but no DisplayPort connection.

I'm in need of a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. Something like

Yes. It looks something like that. Though I can't distinguish the port clearly in the picture because HDMI is very similar to DisplayPort in terms of connector/port.

Kindly verify that there is a mark that looks like D on the male connector.

The displayport male side should have this logo

mine is hdmi to a different hdmi type adapter

you can search for it in the market, if you dont see it, you might wanna order it from aliexpress

simply import it. it doesn't cost much.

What I see in that picture is a HDMI to Mini-HDMI converter like the type used for phones.


What I need is a converter with DisplayPort male port with an inscription like the pic used in my early comment and a Female HDMI port.

Note that DisplayPort is a multimedia port like HDMI but usually used on enterprise PC like the HP Elitebook. Although the form factor is similar they are truly distinct.

If you know any Osogbo park, you can send it through the park. I think that'll cost between 500 - 1k.

U don't have an idea of what an elitebook is. Itz a business machine. The displayport is even superior to HDMI.

I didn't get it. I bought another laptop and didn't need the cable anymore. I don't know why small things like that are so scarce in Naija. If you are in Lagos, you might be able to get something inside computer village.

Yeah, works flawlessly

Take a close look at my TV, you'll see its a desktop folder that's on display. You won't see the chord that runs the laptop to the TV cos I ran it through a pvc conduit which I painted green

Really bad compared to the display port I'm using now.... You'd surely get one at CV, if you stay in lagos..

(don't know if the problem is with the vga port on the system cos the port was beside the charging port.. So anytime the charger is plugged in,the display starts flickering a bit. )
