that's wrong. there are different sizes of hard drive and they range from 1.8" to 3.5" as far as I know. The most common among laptops is the 2.5" but the size for the Hp 2530p is 1.8" and it is very expensive.

That's what I meant when I said, buy the one that'll fit. There's also the matter of the maximum rpm the laptop supports but most laptops these days support 7200rpm so it's not that much of an issue.
