For the past one month now,i noticed that i only see G on my phone but i can no longer open even the MTN home page with the
Default settings(10.199.212.2:8080).
All effort to fix this has been fruitless as non of their fraustrating customer service officers seems to know what to do,
Pls help me out.

Yes I ve noticed the same thing on my friends phone also, each time he launches the browser it shows zero kilobite download. I guess his phone has a virus or the browser has crashed over time, all this Nokia symbian phones you have to be very careful of viruses. Well my honest advice is to go flash your phone perhaps that might do the trick.

I don't think it's from MTN cos majority of us still do d runs perfectly. Try check up d phone as adv by infoseye. Best of luck

The issue is that i removed my friend's sim and i used it on my phone to browse without any problem.i tried using my own sim on his phone but its giving thesame problem,
So,the problem seems not to be from the phone but from the provider,  or what do u think?

I really do not know what model of Nokia you are using BUT there is usually a problem with the in-built browser on Nokia, It has a mind of its own - EVEN on my Nokia E90, I couldnt use the browser, It only worked with Zain WAP or GPRS.

But, just to be clear on the config; simply have the APN set to; web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net

I do not think you need all those other parameters, they look like those "cheat" settings that could make their servers automatically shut your access down.

So if you want MTN GPRS; reset your phone to its factory settings OR remove all those funny IP address parameters you have there and simply set the APN above and you are on.

You people seems not to understand the problem am currently facing, pls read what i wrote very well.
I have sent SETTINGS to 3888 more than 100 times but its not working.
whenever i put another sim into my phone, it browses like fire.
Pls help me out, pls greatest nairalander.

My Guy d only solution 2 tat prob is 2 keep on trying maybe is network prob. but if d simtom persist. get a new sim and call Customer care 4 sim swap. shap shap

It happened to me too. For two straight weeks I couldn't use my GPRS to run any application on my phone. The very terrifying thing was that other sims work like a breeze on the same phone. I called those brainless twats at customer service severally but they just succeeded in sending me on a goose chase. I then e-mailed them; promptly my browsing was restored. Try it, you might just get ur solution(customercare@mtnnigeria.net)

Try emailing their customer care as suggested by ifedisky or just save urself trouble by buying a new sim.

@poster I told u earlier I have a friend experiencing what you are going through, I checked on him yesterday he told me that his phone started browsing back again. I asked if he called customer or not he said no that he just tried it of recent and it work, so I think its something that has todo with the phone and not Sim card just keep trying it once in a while and also load credit on it while trying it best of luck.

I was @ MTN office this morning to lodge complain on the isssue.
They asked me to expect solusion as soon as possible.
The solution has not come yet ooooooo.

In response to Ifedisky, i have just mail customercare@mtnnigeria.net. am awaiting their response.

My brother, my humble suggestion which I think is the simple solution to us problem is that you should go to MTN and get a welcome back sim and then configure your settings, I have done it and it worked perfectly, good luck

1. i reported to mtn office this morning
2. i sent email to customercare@mtnnigeria.net

The gprs has been blocked again,
I have not even used it.
Am confused o.

Hmmmm my guy y dnt u use anoda fone 4 awhile n c hw it goes?
If its stil blocked den i ges u hv 2 either do a sim swap or get anoda sim
