Vandals...

They will just vandalize them and sell..

The real question is why would Fashola spend billions to install CCTV and it's not working. Some of those CCTV have already packed up becos of under utilization and some vehicles have ran into others.

Then Buhari said his cabinet doesn't have corrupt officers

This is very necessary, considering the high rate of crime in Lagos now, but trust Nigerians, they will find a way around it

For you to have this kind of tech installed you need;

1. An effective police system.

2. A solid database.

Lagos/Nigeria has neither. This is just an avenue to embezzle public funds.

Can Ambode please:

- upgrade 10,000 primary, vocational, secondary & technical schools
- with qualified teachers, lab. technicians, workshop attendants, librarians etc

to keep ALL our children busy while acquiring knowledge and skills to create VALUE
as well as increased EMPLOYMENT for our youths

This will ensure greatly REDUCED criminality as the idle mind still remains a devil's workshop.
Instead we have derelict schools all over the state, even in Fashola's (and WizKid's) Surulere neighbourhood shocked

MathsChic:
Some days ago, I was at a secondary school in Surulere (across the bridge from the Island) in Lagos for a friend's event where he is educating secondary students about the perils of peer pressure. I honestly wasn't expecting what I saw as the state of this secondary school.
It left me wondering if this was a school or a dump yard. Why in heaven's name are Nigerian leaders looking the other way while the young ones study in this sorry environment?

The attached pictures are what I saw. This is no secondary school. It's a hopeless shanty. I hope this gets to front page and attracts the necessary attention.

Lagos Deploys Additional 1,000 CCTV Cameras
21 Jan 2014

The Lagos State Government Monday disclosed that it would soon begin the installation of additional 1,000 Close Circuit Television (CCTV), which it said, would help beef up security and crime monitoring in the state.

With the latest development, the number of security cameras, which are in operation across the state would be 2,200, out of which the federal government earlier deployed 1,000 and the state government 1,200.

However, Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN), disclosed the plans to install additional 1,000 CCTV at the public security system demonstration at the Lagos State Security Command and Control Centre, Alausa.

You are right, after the police view a crime on a CCTV, they would still be nonchalant about it
