Hello great minds of nairaland.My mb c 200 does not do slow run,it all started after I changed my trottle cable.i hav given two mechanics now and they hav not been able to rectify d issue.even wen m not not stepping on the accelerator,it moves too quickley.taken it to like 2 benz specialist,but non has. Been of help.pls help a brother |

Carburretor servicing might be needed.. Happened to Our fellowship bus one time and we serviced the carburretor to fix it. |

I'm suspecting that the throttle cable is too tight. Upload a picture of the throttle cable linkage area on the engine. |

Oluwapresley: Servicing a Carburetor is very different to servicing fuel injectors. A carburetor can be serviced by an average mechanic. Fuel injectors can't. They can only be cleaned ultrasonically by a specialist. "Servicing" injectors the Nigerian way does them no good, and is a waste of time AND money. 1 Like 1 Share |

Thanx boss,it uses injector.gave a rewire who later found out it was the injector mouth.says its too wide,so i will change it and get back to you guys |

psalmz: My guy, "Abeggy", before you start complicating issue, wasn't it the same injector before you change the throttle cable? I ask because personally i use to adjust my throttle cable to make my 4 cylinder c180 run like an 8 cylinder, so first thing first: Check to make sure the length of the throttle cable you replace is the same like the one you removed, if not , what you actually need there is to adjust the throttle cable at the tip nearest to the engine to slacken to give you the kind of slowdown that you need, and not any complicated and expensive thing. You will turn it clockwise to slacken a little bit if it is too taught as a result that the cable is shorter than what was there before, or the tip was just too taught at installation-you wont believe the magic you could do with these things. Just check these things well(you could play along with it till you get it right) be sure before you go for any expensive complicated repairs that was never needed in the first place. Because i refuse to accept that your rewire man wide injector mouth theory. Worst case scenario, go and get the exact length of the previous throttle cable and install there, instead of trying to give Benz a bad name by the way it is going. 2 Likes |

Bro... your problem started after changing the throttle cable.... most likely the solution would also has something to do with the replaced cable. I'm sure the solution is in Auhanson advice above. I'm not a mechanic but can guarantee you if you follow your mechanic's advice... it would be the beginning of problems without end. Amen. 1 Like |

Phooey! Atleast, a mechanic just said the issue is the Injector which works almost exactly as the carburretor. U can go ahead and blab, Mr know all. I wonder when suggestions started becoming issues! Damn. If u want the issue to be the throttle cables, u can get under his car! Tseeew Exponental: |

And like I said, Im not a mechanic but Im someone who pays attention to issues around him and I only gave an answer cox something similar had happened to me before. I really hope it turns out to be the INJECTOR which works almost as the CARBURRETOR, that has the issues so it can serve as a painful lesson to u all that just belittle other ppl's suggestions becox u feel u know all. |
