World’s leading American multinational internet streaming media company, Netflix hits Nigeria with monthly subscription plans from US$7.99 in a bid to expand and remain the world's number one on-demand online TV shows and movies provider.

Nigerian's long dream of joining #Netflixandchill conversation on social media while actually watching the trending shows and movies, Nextlix with available service on Smart TVs, computers, tablets, smartphones, and game consoles. But, will Nigerians Netflix and chill or run to some torrent sites to download trending movies on Netflix?

Why most Nigerians will run back to Torrent download sites after one month of free Netlixing

Nigerians would love to Netflix, but online streaming cost a lot of data and as the case would be for most of the internet service providers in Nigeria, you have to be in some privileged location to be able to enjoy strong internet connection that can power live streaming.

With trending series like Making of a Murderer, House of Cards, and one month free for Nigerians, Netflix is sure to get lots of Nigerian subscribers in its first month of coming to Nigeria. But, the big question is how many Nigerians will return after their free subscription has expired?

To many Nigerians, streaming movies on Netflix would not make any economic sense, when they can download even movies that are exclusive to Netflix from torrent sites few hours after they released on Netflix.

For Netflix to own the Nigerian VOD market they have to add more Nigerian movies to their bouquet and partner with internet service providers in Nigeria to offer special affordable data bundles that would provide fast and reliable connections across the country.

Neltflix is coming into a country where data is sold in megabytes and Gigabytes instead of offering unlimited download monthly subscription. Its so sad how things work upside down in Nigeria. Without unlimited internet bundles then we cant actually have functional knowledge base. There is more knowledge base on Youtube than schools and our TV contents promote redundancy.

Yet most of us will spend all our lives on YouTube without watching any knowledge based video. what a shame.

Their services is most likely to work in some privileged location.

For example, some internet providers are already offering unlimited data in some areas of Lagos state.

probably as a test run, they'll expand it to other areas as well I'm sure.
