Madonna Wins Adoption Appeal Madonna has won her appeal to adopt a second child from Malawi. On June 12, the country's highest court overturned a lower court's earlier decision and praised Madonna for her commitment to helping children in need. Her charity, Raising Malawi, works to educate, feed and give medical care to more than one million orphans in Malawi.
