Great Morning Habits That Increase Productivity by Victorwordsmith(m): 8:47am On Jan 09, 2016
What wakes you in the morning? A cock crow? A muezzin's call to prayer?
Your alarm clock? That's not really important anyway. What do you do when
you get out of bed? That's more important. You may have noticed, its slowly
becoming a routine for people to rush out of bed and head for the bath tub
straight away. Mornings seem to be filled with more pressure than necessary.
You want to know what inspired this post? I came across a photo one Sunday
night which boldly read: "We Hate Monday Mornings." Oh! really? Monday or
Friday, mornings are the same. From a personal research, I discovered that
there's usually an increase in individuals' productivity on Fridays unlike any
other day. And the simple reason is this, It has become a normal thing for
people to say: "Thank God its Friday" as soon as they're awake. There's
always an unusual happiness to welcome another weekend. This happiness is
the secret reason behind the optimism and rare energy people exhibit mostly
on Fridays. What if everyday was a Friday? It doesn't make sense right? How
about you repeating some Friday morning habits on every other morning? You
can consciously increase your daily productivity by mastering some great
morning habits, even if they require that you get out of bed earlier than usual.
1. Don't skip Breakfast. According to health specialists, breakfast is the most
important meal of the day. It activates your mind and sets you on course for
the day's task. No matter how busy you think you are, you'll have to squeeze
sometime out for breakfast. It doesn't have to be heavy though.
2. Read something inspiring. You never can tell how powerful this is, and you
can never underestimate it's impact. Find a book and read probably just one
chapter. It could be also be a poem. Visit a blog, read an article, listen to a
radio broadcast, watch a 4minutes video clip. As long as its something
inspiring.
3. Make a to-do list. If you're self employed or you work from home, you really
need to get used to this. It helps you plan your day. A to-do list makes it
easier for you to list the day's tasks, set goals and review them. It plans your
time too. If you don't know how to make a to-do list, you definitely need to
learn that fast.
4. Develop a Positive Mental Attitude. Your ability to stay positive may be your
greatest asset. Approach each day with a positive mental attitude. Be
optimistic about everything. Kill your fears. Don't think you'll have a bad day.
Don't think you'll be faced with herculean tasks. Don't think you'll get fired.
The reason is simple. Your mind has a way of constantly bringing your
thoughts to reality. Don't think negative, be positive.
5. Look in your mirror like you've never done before. Spend some seconds
staring at your face. While doing this, activate your imaginative power. Let
your mind travel far and wide, let it help you imagine all the things you can
achieve. You may want to say them, write them or just leave them in your
heart. Whatever your mind can conceive, your hands can achieve.
If you give these habits a try, you'll match out of your door with a lifted
head, a higher jaw and a confident you, that's ready for the day. All you'll do is
Win.
