2 Ark hotel China (arc hotel) is one of amazing floating
hotels in the world and its structure is so ecological
and a wonder of engineering. Ark Hotel Unique dome-
shaped is constructed with wooden arches, steel
cables and a self-cleaning plastic layer instead of
glass. The hotel with 151,000 square feet of living
space would cost roughly the same as building an
energy-efficient house. Ark Hotel uses solar panels
and a rainwater collection system to provide
inhabitants with power and water. There will also be a
“tornado” energy generating spiral at the top of the
pillar.
The Ark hotel China internal garden provides a lush
escape for guests by acting as a greenhouse and
enough daylight is filtered throughout the internal
rooms to reduce the need for lighting. Inside the Ark
incorporates large amount of vegetation that is
cultivated through the light captured by its cover.
Architects say the Ark Hotel shell-like construction of
arches and cables evenly distribute weight so it is also
invulnerable to earthquakes. The hotel concept would
float and function independently on the surface of a
body of water, providing a green, self-sustaining
environment for guests who presumably, would never
have to leave.
Ark Hotel China project was designed by Russian firm
Remistudio with the assistance of the International
Union of Architects’ program Architecture for Disasters
Relief.
