Details are still sketchy but we gather that Messi took offence to Ronaldo ogling his girlfriend Antonia Rocuzzo and shaking her hand during the ceremony.

Messi was said to have gloated to Ronaldo backstage after he was awarded the Ballon D'Or and Ronaldo retorted that he would "f*** his B****". This pushed Messi over the edge and he hit Ronaldo on the head with the Ballon D'or. At this point it became a free for all fist fight.

We also gather that Neymar tried to get involved and got hit in the face with a Microphone stand. He is currently in a Zurich hospital receiving treatment.
