A panel of inquiry set up by Nigerian Army to investigate allegations of unprofessional conduct by
some soldiers during the 2014 governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states yesterday Monday 11,2016 finalised its investigation and submitted  the report to the Chief of Army Staff at the Army Headquarters, Abuja. The investigation recommended immediate/compulsory retirement of two soldiers.

While submitting the report,Major General Adeniyi Oyebade, the Chairman of the Board and General Officer Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army said the Board placed adverts in the media requesting for memoranda from the public before commencing its investigation.Speaking further,he said a total of 23 officers and over 100 soldiers appeared before the panel as well as 62 civilians.

Read a statement released by  acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, quotes Oyebade below.

''Other recommendations include placing 15 officers on watch list, 9 officers were to be further investigated by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission over allegations leveled against them. While 6 officers were to face an audit committee and 62 officers (mostly of the rank of Majors-below) were to be given Letters of Displeasure and to appear before their respective General Officers Commanding for counseling.”

Major General Adeniyi later thanked the Nigerian Army for the opportunity to spearhead the board. He also said the members of the board will be eager to   serve Nigeria when called upon for any other such assignment. He thanked the Nigerian Police, other security agencies and the general public for their support and cooperation.General Adeniyi went further to say that the Board members discharged their duties professionally, knowing the gravity and implication of their report on the careers of officers and impact on the Nigerian Army.He appealed to members of the Board to share knowledge acquired in the course of their assignment with their colleagues for the benefit of the Nigerian Army and the nation. He concluded by saying the army will continue to discharge its duties without preferential treatment to any politician or political party.

With the compulsory retirement of some soldiers, what is the fate of Gov. Fayose?

Good.

With this report, the APC can now make the case that the election was rigged, and then the Court matters can follow.

I don't see Fayose surviving this year as the Governor of Ekiti.

They will get his own PDP legislators to impeach him. All this could be gone in one week and they won't even bribe them.

Constitutionally, he can only be removed by being impeached.
Prior to this if the election case has gone all the way to supreme court, and he has won. Fayose will complete his tenure.

So.the best is after his tenure, to charge him for electoral malpractice etc.
But then the burden is on the Prosecution to prove that he rigged the elections.
The audio tape is inadmissible in courts.
The fact APC wants to nail Fayose does not mean they won't have to work hard for it.
A court martial is different from a regular court.

This has shown the highest level of impunity in this country and also high level of ignorance among followers like ones commenting above me. When an illiterate who cannot read and understand constitution is the head of any organization or parastatal, he or she will do things according to his selfish desires.
When they said that our judiciary has been compromised by the executive a lot of Nigerians do not even know what it means, they rejoice and praise those behind the act not knowing it's all to their own detriment because court is the last hope of a common man.
Supreme court is the highest and final court in Nigeria and any judgment given by this court is final and can't be reviewed nor revisited. All parties affected by the judgment be it the executive, legislative or security operatives must abide by the judgment.

Where in the history of Nigeria or in other countries that the judgment given by the highest court of a nation is reviewed by the executive and bring the case back to court, which court has the jurisdiction to try such case?

The ekiti electoral matter has been laid to rest by the supreme court!! Besides the duration for any electoral litigation has elapsed. The only way Fayose can be removed as Governor is through impeachment or assasination.

Funny posts whilst some are quite hilarious and sentimental grin

Reasonable ones too.

But seriously do people expect Buhari to arrest Fayose (a sitting gov with immunity) when his election has been laid to rest at the supreme court

SMH for these zombies.
