The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has assured Nigerians not to despair as the military is working hard to eradicate the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents in the country’s north eastern states this year.

Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Tactical Air Command (TAC), AVM Adeniyi Ojuawo who made the remark during the Base Socio-Cultural Activity (BASA) organized for officers and men of the Command with their families at the weekend in Makurdi, said that the Air Force had deflated the insurgents.

He noted that all the terrorists could do at the moment was suicide bombing, adding, “We have degraded them to a level that for the past three weeks, we have not heard anything like suicide bombing. It’s obvious that we are working and we are achieving our objectives.” He posited that though Boko Haram would not ease out easily, he assured Nigerians that before the end of the year, the group would be
conquered.

He added that 2015 would be remembered as the year that the Nigerian military was able to reduce to the barest minimum, the activities of Boko Haram. According to him, the Tactical Air Command as the teeth arm of the Nigerian Air Force was ready to do better this year as he described the recent donation of some military wares to Nigeria by the US government as a welcome development to indirectly help fight insurgency.
