Abacha $300 Million Loot: Twitter Nigeria Reacts by GurlFriend: 12:47pm On Jan 12, 2016
Last night, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama revealed that the Federal Government is in talks with the Swiss Government about the return of $300 Million of the Abacha loot stored in Swiss banks.

Twitter Nigeria has been buzzing about the $300 million Abacha Swizz loot, with some going as far as calling the Late dictator a hero, praising him for creating government reserves for Nigeria.

Those praising Abacha, calling the loot, a reserve are myopic!

If Abacha had not died, what would happen to the loot?
Still a reserve abroad I guess?

This is nothing short of economic homicide.

The people Abacha sent to their early grave due to his mis management will continually haunt him.

It should be N60bn using today's rate not N6bn. The future value of 1998 $300m is way more than that. My B.Sc Finance friends can testify to this.

And some leading Nigerian light said the Abacha family wasn't corrupt.

The truth is that what Swiss and co is sending us as Abachas' loot is only the interest of his loot accrued over time. Next year, they will still send us some percentage of the interest and we'll keep thanking them, while the main money is being put to use in development their economy.

Say you fixed like $2billion for 15years, no matter the rate, the interest will be outrageous.

Do we have any choice?.. NO.

Pls how much is that in naira, I think that should be more than sufficient to fund our budget. In the other newsI just saw this in the latest version of Oxford dictionary:dasuki /dæzjuki:/ (verb)(1) to divert public funds for personal use and share among other people(2) to use an organization's money for non-organizational purposes.Example: He promised not to dasuki their money if elected as the chairman.
