The Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has said after the investigation on the $2.1billion arms fund, the misappropriation of funds in the oil sector by the Goodluck Jonathan-led administration may be the next to be probed by the Federal Government. Amaechi made this known on Thursday during a panel session at a round-table discussion organised by Business Eye in Lagos while speaking on the missing $49bn oil revenue, which the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido, alleged that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation did not remit into the Federation Account.

Amaechi said, “Even before Sanusi and President Goodluck Jonathan began to quarrel, I had to leak that letter. Sanusi wrote that letter to the President in September, I leaked it sometime in January, and that letter was personal: ‘Mr. President, $49bn was missing,’ and I got a copy of that letter. Instead of the Federal Government to say we are going to address this, they began to debate with the CBN governor and Nigerians join in the debate. Oh, it is not possible. Now, they have seen that is possible. I am sure this investigation going on, maybe when they finish with arms deal, they will go to oil. You will be seeing the stealing as it is going.”

The first probe is unsure and inconclusive and you want to move to another probe?? Well, I already foresee probes for the 4 years so this is no news.

However, I would like to see how this government will handle the sale of Conoco Phillips' stakes in Brass LNG to Oando Plc (Tinubu owned Oil and Gas firm). Also, further tests of their sincerity would be tried when other APC chieftains are called in the oil & Gas scandals... These would be a plethora of true tests of their (anti)-corruption war...

This administration has already failed their sincerity tests from current wars being fought.

The greatest undoing of Jonathan was having Amaechi as an enemy.

Please not may probe.... ooooh, let them probe the oil sector holistically because there are more ' yams in the oil barn' than the arms barn.
I am enjoying the drama and the expositions as i voted for Buhari somehow because of this occasion.

Probe everywhere and yet the economy is in comatose, things are taking bad shapes almost daily yet these megalomaniacs can only shout probe because they are largely clueless on how to run a government. Obasanjo met a worse Nigeria when he came onboard 16 years ago and really put in place some infrastructures without disturbing our ears, Obama inherited big economic challenge from Bush yet no noise...... By the way what does one expect from a government with Amaechi (an arrogant former Governor who achieve less during his 8 years in power) as Minister. undecided

Excellent development. whatever we are seeing today in terms of probe is just a tip of the iceberg.
Jonah-daft was indeed a curse.

Senselessness in the highest order.

A government that spends 80% of it's time, strenght & resources looking backwards cannot move any country forward.
