Enyimba were the champions of the 2014/2015 season after getting close to winning the title for the previous two seasons. The season started slow for the champions, as the won just 8 points out of a possible 15 points in their first 5 games.
The team started the campaign with a 0-0 draw at home to Akwa United, while playing another 1-1 draw with Lobi Stars the following weekend, Enyimba defeated Bayelsa United by a single goal in the third week but ended up losing by a goal the following week to Kano Pillars. The team stepped up its gear in the middle of the season, tightening its defense and picking up valuable points at home and away.
Enyimba won a total of 19 matches, drew 13, and lost 6.
Enyimba will also be involved in the biggest football club tournament in Africa, the CAF Champions League. They kick off their CAF Champions League with a match away in Uganda against Vipers SC.
Enyimba Fc nicknamed the "Peoples Elephant" founded in 1976 are arguably the most successful club in Nigeria, are no strangers to the competition. They won the CAF Champions League back to back in 2003 and 2004 and also went on to win the CAF Super cup in 2004 and 2005 respectively. This years competition will be their 9th appearance, and they look forward to winning Africa's most prestigious football club competition.

Enyimba International Football Club is Nigeria's most successful football club, they are arguably the richest also. The name, "Enyimba" comes from the Igbo language, meaning the "Peoples Elephant". Founded in 1976, the club rose to prominence late in the early 2000, where they won the most prestigious football club tournament in Africa, the CAF Champions League, back to back and earned an estimated revenue of about 12 million euros.
In Enyimba's first season in the top division, they finished 13th out of 16 clubs, and the following season finished 15th and were relegated. They won promotion back to the top flight in the next two seasons. In the top flight, they continued their impressive run of good results that got them promoted, and finished 3rd. They had mixed fortunes, but were backed by their state government, and this led to them winning the Nigerian championship title in the 2001 season, as well as winning the Nigerian Super Cup in October 2001. That was the beginning of the clubs successes. They are currently the champions of the Nigerian Professional Football League.
