From "Tobacco smoking is dangerous to health" to "Smokers are liable to die young." Yet people never stop destroying themselves and polluting the environment with smoke. Does it have to do with some "Tobacco Demon Possession"?

it's all about addiction, these things keep solving their problems or seem to solve their depressions and so they continue.

because smoking is a Nicotine addiction. it's very hard to quit once you're hooked.

i guess that smoking and drinking has a very strong spirit and it takes divine power from God for one to stop if you have started.

Please let no one start drinking or smoking because once you are addicted with it is very difficult to leave.

People don't care about long term warnings more than short term pleasures, also it is not that everyone will be badly affected unlike poison. That gives the human being a confidence - "lets buy a lottery now and take another smoke/drink".

Anywayz to answer your question,we're dealing with humans here & everyone has a choice how to live his/her life. It's like asking 'why do people still engage in premarital sex' or adultery or unprotected sex in spite of all the warnings of STIs/STDs unwanted pregnancies religous beliefs etc,etc. Remeber somebody once said 'if you don't drink, smoke or love,you don't live longer-it just seems longer'.

i guess guys keep on smoking and drinking even with all the warnings and danger of smoking and drinking because they are addicted to it, my advise is that they should seek God for help and go for counselling from their pastors, or firend that they know don't smoke and drink.
