The problem with agric in Nigeria is that most of our production is done in inefficient smallholder subsistence farming.We do not have the culture of large scale modern farms in Nigeria.

Then there is the problem of guaranteed markets. As mentioned here elsewhere....orders for agric products are made years in advance.Add to that....we do not even have the guaranteed markets we used to in the 1960's.

Yes...revive agric....but it is not a one day or even one year job.

Get a database of graduates interested in farming. Get a revolving loan of single digit interest with adequate moratorium. Create Agricultural Marketing Boards, Ban the imports of food items that can be locally produced.

Food becomes surplus and our economy becomes diversified.

GEJ laid the foundation by setting up the Nagropreneurs and Market Oriented Farm producers under the Youth Employment in Agriculture Program. Let PMB consolidate it.
