I understand where you going at, most Nigerian parents at this time won't advice their wards to join the military, but it is not about them but Nigeria. If every parents tow this path who will defend them, when the invaders come?

I don't think it will be much of an issue as far as their is moderation. But be rest assured that you will be on skull throughout the duration of training if you are eventually selected..

Nope. Why should you be penalized.
Only that you'll scrape every bit of hair on your head before appearing in front of selection board. You go become gorimapa - both men and women

RC, SSC and DSSC are all presidential commissions.

The only group, which I know calls DSSC and SSC officers names are NCOs(Non Commission Officers) who don't like the fact that after just 6/9 months training you become their boss.
Army is about seniority and seniority is as follows
RC, SSC, DRC, DSSC and EC.

you guys should stop discouraging applicants on this thread.

You are very correct bro. The list was published 29th July, 2016 and they were told to report for Selection Board interview on the 5th August, 2016.
Let's wait and see what we happen on the 14th , Friday. But my concern is would Army fix the selection board interview for Yuletide period (25, 26, December)?

Hahahaha. I saw something that happened in my unit, when Regular officers are rotated from NE with short service officers, that's when I heard them saying Army belong to Regulars. So guy be serious about it , I pray for u to be there u will see d discrimination about RC and SSC/DSSC/EC.

If u can go round all d formations in North East u will see dat 90% of d officers there are Either SSC/DSSC/ EC. That's why if u go as SSC 90% of u will be posted to fighting corps, so zero it from now. D day u passout ........

not all regular combatants would make major general

not all SSC officers would make Brigadier General

not all DSSC officers would make colonel

what i typed above is the usual rank officers of the various commissions should reach if they are discipline, cracked, good lobbyist and live long

if you check the army bible today, 70 - 80 percent major generals are regular combatants

10 to 15 percent are short service combatants converted to regular

5 percent or even less are DRC officers (DSSC converted to DRC)

so don't console yourself thinking army is army, except you are in the medical or education corp where regulars are not found
