The steering stabilizer is like shock absorber positioned horizontally in the front suspension of a car, truck or SUV. This is used to reduce harmonic vibrations in the suspension system. As with the regular shock absorbers, the steering stabilizer has a hydraulic fluid chamber that absorbs all the forces exerted on it, thus reducing the vibration transference. If this fluid leaks because of a failed seal, there would be a failure of the steering stabilizer and replacement would be needed.
