Where do u ppl get ur news from? I watched d inauguration ceremony from d begining to d end. The former governor of kogi state Capt. Wada sat @ d right hand side on d same settee with d new governor Yahaya Bello @ d Lokoja stadium. Just that d former governor's presence was not recognised because he's from d opposition party(PDP).

Hahaha..
psychiatric patient where went you.....?

A psychiatric patient patient who flew for 40 years without having any stain to his career should be commended. Unlike you who spends all your time on social media chasing shadows, a young Wada was already an established professional at 21, which is the mere reason he towered above his mates in the aviation world.

Governance in Nigeria is an extremely difficult endeavor, and it's just a matter of time before the structural realities facing Kogi State begin to rear its ugly head again.

Idris Wada is to blame in some way for all that has happened in Kogi over the past months. The fight over who won the election and the issue of who to appoint as deputy.
If he was a performing governor, people would not have preferred Audu to him. They would have gladly given him a second mandate by voting for him again and so the death of Audu would not have caused any problem as to who the winner would be since he (Wada) would have had majority of the people's votes.
But because he failed to deliver, the people wanted a change and thus decided to go for Audu. Even though Audu wasn't the best choice, Wada was just not an option.
Wada's ineptitude is the root cause of all the hullabaloo.

Performance is relative. Wada's major shortcoming was that he allowed the opposition shape the narrative in the State. What most forget is that in 2012, the State was hampered by severe flooding, which basically compromised all critical infrastructure in the State meaning that they had to start all over from scratch. This incident alone cost the Government time and resources, as the available resources had to go towards addressing pressing issues created by the flood.

I live in Lokoja and can tell for a fact that under Wada it was clear that we had a Government that had a vision for the State, promoting a development in a systematic manner devoid of the propaganda that trails politicians. Audu and Ibro were Kogi's problems, not Wada who inherited the mess created by these two. And in fairness to Wada the projects inaugurated under his tenure are landscape changing ones which if allowed to blossom will increase the revenue base of the State. Time shall be kind on the most humane and responsible leader Kogi has ever had.

Great...where is EFCC sef?

What is EFCC coming to do? Create a media showing again?

You all must think that everyone who's saddled with Governance seeks to steal money from Government coffers. As a resident of Lokoja, if Wada was commended for anything it certainly is his honesty and lack of affinity to corruption. Allegations were made that he used Kogi's funds to establish an airline, which is expected knowing fully well that he comes from an aviation background. But again, airlines in Nigeria are very few, therefore the so called Airline must have a name isn't it?

I have it on strong authority that Wada didn't use a bullet proof car for his first year in office, up until he had the accident where he broke his leg (which was treated in Nigeria btw). And his reason being that; the Kogi State Govt couldn't afford to purchase luxury vehicles as payment of staff salaries was more of a priority than riding exotic cars. I am no apologist of Wada and have never met him, but it's necessary for us to avoid this so called bandwagon effect in dealing with public officials, as not all of the go into it for the MONEY; and certainly not someone like Wada who came into Government after haven run a successful airline for 30 years.

The immediate past governor of Kogi state, Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party, was absent at the inauguration of his successor, Yahaya Bello of the All Progressives Congress, on Wednesday.

He was not available to perform handover formalities or make a speech at the inauguration ceremony.

Mr. Wada’s whereabouts remained unknown but those close to him said he might have travelled out of Nigeria.

He didn't attend the ceremony because he handed over yesterday, and was advised not too for security reasons. Which is logical bearing in mind the hostilities in the State created by the crisis in APC. For us locals, his attendance is immaterial as it is on record that his transition is the most peaceful one ever witnessed in the State. Audu to Ibro was an encore of World War 2, and was only resolved by the intervention of the then President Obasanjo.

Which Audu? The same Audu who locked the doors of govt house and went away with the keys? Or the same Audu that fought ibro till his grave. Even in death nothing joined them. I can excuse your ignorance though most kogi people are ignorant of mere facts.

Arogba:

Wrong! Wada isn't the first to do a seamless transition, Audu was an ANPP governor when Ibro won the election on the platform of PDP in 2003 and the transition was even smoother than this one.

How did he cause the so called hardship you allude to him? Kogi State civil servants are the highest paid in the North (despite their trademark indolence) and rank amongst the highest in the entire country, due to minimum wage which he inherited from Ibrahim Idris who was a beneficiary of high allocations. The reality of today's Kogi is that its take home from the center has dropped significantly, and its unable to meet up with the demands of the work force (and that's despite increasing IGR by over 300% from NGN 120m to NGN 600M). So again what do you expect Wada to do? Result to quantitative easing to resolve the State's financial burden?

Kogi's problem is structural as it is an amalgamation of entites with zero economic base. The plan at inception was to use Ajaokuta as a catalyst to spur economic growth and prosperity. Now the question to you is this: has Ajaokuta lived up to its billing?

It's one thing to simply sit behind your keyboard and throw jabs at accomplished individuals due to the exposure granted them by offering themselves to serve; and it's another thing to argue coherently with facts at hand.

Bello no doubt has youthful vigor going for him, but again, he would need more than that to make a significant impact in the State.
