by the government on self employment
..Snail farming could assist the
attainment for this objective.

The snail consist of the head ,foot and
shell .The fleshy head bear two paiers of
tentacles that can be treated. The longer
pair has a tin eye on each of them .The
eyes is used to distinguish between light
and darkness

MATURITY/INCUBATION/HATCHING OF
EGGS
sexual maturity is attained at 9-10 months
of age at 90-1379 and the snails breed
during the raining season May-October
but can reproduce throughout the year if
well fed.

Snails are hermaphrodites ,the eggs are
laid at night in cluthes contaning between
13-16 eggs in a smooth well of 2-6com
deep.Freshly laid eggs are with lemon -
yellow shell, oval almond shape and are
slippery to touch it lays 4 clutches of
eggs in a year about 50-60 eggs which
hatch about 26-40 days and show no
parental care..

Eggs can be placed in a hatchery with
sand covered floor. The top must also
convered with the same highly snail is
hatched out in about 25days .Incubation
without hatching can be made good by
the process of mechanically scarification
of the egg at the extreme top to gradually
recover the one from the shell. The delay
in hatching can be caused due to shell
thickness or high moisture content of the
soil..
