I've come to the Understanding that when it comes to Parenting in Nigeria, there is not set Medium to go by and as children, you experiences will be based on two factors. There isn't any evolution and as a society, we always dwell on archaic practices than look to evolve them. Even though with modernization and technology, the answers are just right there in front of our eyes, we over look it and dwell on practices of the past, while expecting the future to be different.

1. Economic standard of the parents, will determine the rules they impose on their children
2. Education, Awareness and geographical location will determine, societal acceptable rules for parenting.

Its is a well documented fact the a vast majority of Wealthy parents, don't beat their children but talk to them, while the reverse is the case for the Not So wealthy Parents,

Examples.

Here are some Comparisons.

In Many poor Nigerians households, Kids are raise with the notion that eating the meat before eating the food is stealing lipsrsealed
and I'm sure there are many Nairalanders that grew up with this upbringing and will continue it too with their children.

But Wealthy Nigerians, will encourage their children, to at least eat the meat, if they don't feel like eating grin

I will post some others ... and you're welcome to share some, you've heard or experienced.
