5 Things We Learned From Derby 1-3 Manchester United by Nobody: 6:28am On Jan 30, 2016
1.ROONEY IS UNITED'S MVP.. Wayne Rooney remains Manchester United’s talisman, as the superb strike for their opening goal in the 16th minute proved. Despite the millions spent by Louis van Gaal to improve his squad, Rooney is still their most likely source of inspiration.

4 MANCHESTER UNITED’S DEFENCE IS NONE EXISTENTAttacking lethargy is not United’s only problem, as George Thorne proved when he exposed their ragged back four to draw the home side level just before half-time. Thorne’s finish was crisp and composed but United’s defending was weak.

3 KEOGH IS A DERBY WARRIOR!Richard Keogh is a warrior for Derby and he enjoyed the physical tussle with Rooney as Derby looked to blunt United’s attacking spearhead. The long-servingDerby defender even looked the part with a mean-looking mask that protected a facial injury.

2 JESSE LINGARD CAN PRODUCE PACE TO UNITED'S ATTACKJesse Lingard’s pace and direct style offers hope for United amid their current attacking problems, as he showed with several dangerous crosses including the one that led to Daley Blind’s goal. The young winger returned to the club who gave him a chance on loan and, while he drifted in and out of the game, he produced enough dangerous moments to justify Van Gaal’s show of faith.

1. VAN GAAL CAN SLEEP WELL...FOR NOW!Imagine what would have happened if United lost to Derby. We were asking ourselves the same question when Derby equalised. But Van Gaal will be a happyman...FOR NOW!

CongratulationsManchester United!Tell us what you think! grin
