Athletico Madrid and Barcelona were at the first and second spot of the La Liga table respectively before today's game, and today was a fierce competition among these clubs because the match outcome was going to decide whether Barcelona was going to remain at the top spot of the table or Athletico was going to steal the lead from Barcelona. And by the way, Barcelona still has an outstanding match to be played as they have only played 21 games this season while the rest clubs have all played 22 games.

10 minutes into the match today, Athletico had the lead from a stunning goal by Koke after a cross was delivered to him from the corner region. However, this early goal still didn't stop Barcelona's men as they kept pushing forward and trying to create chances.

20 minutes after Koke's goal, Barcelona's left-back, Jordi Alba delivered a low cross in the 18 yard box to Lionel Messi for the equalizer, which got the Camp Nou crowd back into the game. But Barcelona was not done yet. 8 minutes later, this time it was the right-back of Barcelona, Dani Alvez who delivered Luis Suarez with a long cross to seal their lead against Athletico Madrid.

Later on, things didn't seem to go well for Athletico as two of their defenders saw red cards each. Former Chelsea player, Filipe Luis, got a straight red card from the referee after a harsh challenge on Lionel Messi and on the other hand, Diego godin also got a second yellow card from the referee after a heavy slide tackle on Luis Suarez. Antione Greizmann also had to chance to level things up with Barcelona but Claudio Bravo's feet were enough to secure Barcelona's victory.
