President Olusegun Obasanjo has said anyone raising the hopes of Nigerians that the kidnapped Chibok girls would return is simply telling them lies.
Obasanjo said there was no way they could be brought back after spending almost two years with their abductors.
He said if former President Goodluck Jonathan had responded speedily to the information of the abduction of the Chibok schoolgirls, there could have been a different story today.
Obasanjo, who spoke on Friday at an event organized by the Staff Club of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, said: “The former president heard about the kidnap 8am in the morning of the abduction, but failed to act until 72 hours later and by then it was too late.
“Anyone saying they will return is telling lies.
“May be some of them will return to tell their story.”
Obasanjo said it was better for Nigerians that the Peoples Democratic Party lost the last presidential election.
He said with someone like Jonathan at the helm of affairs, it was better the party lost.
He said: “Power is still the same way I left it in 2007.
“Railway is same way and other sectors.
“It was best that PDP stopped ruling us.
“It was a thing of joy to me that the earlier declaration of 50 years governance for PDP did not come to pass

So OBJ is telling us to forget about our missing girls! No boss we won't, we knw some of them must have died & some taken to other places but we are hopeful many of them will be rescued. The parents of these girls are eagerly awaiting their return, it's not a joke to forget a missing child that was not dead & buried. As for PDP they were even lucky to have ruled for 16yrs wasting our time & resources and OBJ himself was a big part of it.

Truth is bitter for fools

Well truth is the chance of their return gets slimmer the longer they are with the abductors

Scam. Most camps have been liberated not even one of the so called chibok gals has been found.

Sad though but it's the truth. Jonathan failed to act on time.
