Salvation is the severance from darkness. Severance means pulling away or tearing apart from something.

What is darkness and what keeps you in it?
Darkness is any activity or action that KEEPS YOU AWAY from recognizing and achieving your purpose here on earth. You are here on earth due to a fall (your inability to sustain the values required to live in paradise – zero tolerance for selfishness, injustice, use of force, intolerance, impatience, inconsistency of actions, etc),and you are here to develop these abilities, mature, go back to fall no more. This is purpose discovery. When your actions and activities are laden with selfish interests or considerations, discrimination, unfairness, injustice, forceful actions on people, you are in darkness, and we are here and still here because we are guilty of these.

What this tells us is that we have been travelling in the same direction with darkness. You would not experience pains because we are not opposed to it (we agree with it). Salvation starts with the decision to discontinue the journey and move in opposite direction and this comes first from recognition (of your purpose). Recognition brings conviction that strengthens you to fight on. The pulling away is ascent.

Severance from darkness or salvation is not achieved by prayers but by your activities and actions towards other creatures of God. It is achieved by adding true value to them. There are two types of prayers – prayer of requests and prayer of gratitude. Prayer is a request, and therefore is receiving or attracting. Prayers can earn you more blessing or abundance, mercy (recognition), healing and protection from evil (harm) but not salvation. Your relationship with or disposition to other creatures in creation brings you salvation.

Salvation is achieved through dispensing. But more importantly is that the dispensing is done rightly. This is the bane of humanity. Our dispensing is characterized by selfishness, injustice, inconsistency and without freewill, and it ends up not adding true value to life. The dispensing that brings salvation is not measured by the size of a charity or what is dispensed (food, money, cars, wealth, etc) but by the motive, the spirit of selflessness, justice, freewill behind it.

Darkness will revolt against salvation,
PERSEVERANCE – consistency of action, your resolve to keep at it will see you through
Darkness will inflict hardship, sufferings, denial (withdraw from you all benefits/favours), persecution, etc
ENDURANCE – will see you through
Darkness will fight to let go of you, certain things you desire may not come readily or happen speedily
PATIENCE - will see you through
Darkness will pair you with very unfavorable conditions and difficult people
TOLERANCE – will see you through

The only way to salvation is to pre-occupy yourself with thoughts and activities that pull you away from: Selfish interest – thinking only of yourself or putting your interest ahead of others
Discrimination – emotional attachments to what divides such as color (racism), tribe, religion, sex, class
Rather than what unites. Injustice or the loss of life should hurt you whether to a Black/white, male/female, Jew/Christian/Muslim, rich/poor, educated/illiterate, Hausa/Yoruba/Igbo. God created them all and His spirit resides in them. Imagine the work that had gone into a creation. God is pained at the destruction of any of His works.

Force – getting people to do things you want by force, compulsion, coercion rather than by conviction

SALVATION - YOU KNOW IT WHEN YOU GET THERE
1. You no longer become emotionally attached to things that divide such as sex, color, tribe, religion, class but to things that unite. Your eyes become blind to what divides.
2. Your prayer changes from prayer of requests to prayer of thanksgiving
3. You are willing to give up credits for anonymity – you just want it done not minding who takes the credit.
4. You become very purposeful. Your eyes are set on your goal here on earth – mature go back to fall no more. You no longer take interest in what wouldn’t further this cause. You are willing to let go of some infringements against you. Only a purposeful person will turn the other cheek to a slap, because you see it as a distraction.
