Boko Haram has lasted this long, because of deliberate failure of Nigerian military intelligence and political corruption. Their latest attack left 58 people dead by two female suicide bombers and it would have been worse if the third female suicide bomber detonated her own bomb. But she stopped when she realized that members of her family were in the IDP camp she was sent to bomb. Now how did she know that members of her family were there? And the Nigerian military did not have this information before the suicide bombers attacks?

. The point is members of the Boko Haram have families in the IDP camps and have been communicating with them and sharing information by word of mouth. I once reported that before the widespread suicide bombs attacks by Boko Haram in Yobe, Kano and Borno last year, the Hausa Okada motorbike taxi operators had prior knowledge of the terrorist attacks. Superior military intelligence is enough to defeat the Boko Haram insurgents, but the Nigerian military has not proved to have that. The IDPs are sitting ducks for Boko Haram suicide bombers. They have links to the IDPs which the Nigerian military can also use to monitor and track foot soldiers of Boko Haram.
