Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp insists that Manchester City should have signed John Terry from Chelsea on transfer deadline day.

The former England international, whose contract runs until the end of this season, recently announced that there would not be a “fairytale” retirement at Stamford Bridge.

The club told Terry – who earns a reported £150,000-per-week (via the Daily Mail) – that they would not be offering him a one-year contract extension.
