[b][size=14pt] How Private Schools in Abuja Encourage Indiscipline among Students. [/size] A friend just share with me his teaching experience with some Private owned Schools in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. He told me emphatically that private schools owners in Abuja are solely after profit making at the expense of inculcating western education and moral values to students. Most proprietors are ready to disengage any staff that punishes (min you we are not talking about capital punishment) any of his students that exhibit any act of indiscipline. Teachers in some cases are not allowed to fail a student, even when the student in question performs poorly. Hence the school may loose the child to other schools and therefore loose money. A teacher can not shout on an erring student no matter what. He told me that Teachers are compelled to pet students just to earn the patronage of parents. This trend, if not checked will definitely have a negative impact on the upbringing of these children. Please if you live in Abuja comfirm this trend and share your experience. [/b] |
