The embattled former chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has said he is not afraid to appear in court to defend himself.

The former EFCC boss, who is currently out of the country, was embroiled in different legal battles to defend himself over his trial on non-declaration of assets at the code of conduct tribunal.

Speaking through his lawyer, Mr. Tayo Oyetibo, the former EFCC boss asserted that “he has never been afraid of appearing in court,” adding that the fact that he filed an action in court means that he was ready to face trial.”

The former EFCC boss had dragged the Police Service Commission (PSC), Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Michael Aondoakaa, before the court to challenge his dismissal from the force.

Mallam Ribadu was dismissed from the force on December 22, 2008. But the defendants, in their preliminary objection to the suit, had raised three issues challenging the action filed by the former EFCC boss.
