Jovago Launches Quarterly Business Meeting For Hospitality Sector Stakeholders by Jovago: 10:01am On Feb 15, 2016

08/02/2016- Lagos, Nigeria – Jovago, Africa’s largest hotel booking portal has held its first Quarterly Business Breakfast Meeting for the year at the Victoria Crown Plaza Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

This event which served as part of a line-up of activities kick-starting the 2016 financial year for the company showcased market sector data from research carried out on Africa’s hospitality sector and innate possibilities for the domestic economy.

Speaking at the event, Kushal Dutta, Managing Director, Jovago Nigeria said, “This is a big year for Jovago because we have set operations in motion to grow 10 times bigger than we did in the last 2 years.

“At Jovago, we are launching first of its kind technology such as the iOS App, Extranet V2, Channel Manager, Hotel Manager solutions for all our customers because we understand that innovation has to be the priority of every e-commerce company if they are going to excel in the global market. As our operations expand, the processes for completing transactions will take an upward trajectory and this is something we are optimistic about ,” he said.

According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Africa’s strong performance in 2015 makes it one of the world’s fastest-growing tourist destinations, second only to Southeast Asia which records in-bound traffic of about more than 6 percent annually.

Based on the reports, a total of 65.3 million international tourists visited the continent in the last 2 years – 200,000 more, than in 2013, creating landscale opportunities for revenue generation.

With the Federal Government targeting the transformation of key sectors of the economy under the new broadband regime, pundits expect this move to raise the hospitality sector’s capacity to contribute efficiently to the nation’s total Gross Domestic Product.
