Now consider this scenario, am Aliko Dangote, a Nigerian Company and I would like to interact with my Nigerian users or consumers. So I decide to place targeted ads around the web.

So I take $1 billion and give it too American companies Google or Facebook because most Nigerians are using foreign based internet services and platforms with a few exceptions like nairaland, lindaikeji and i.aweola.org.

Now these services like Google take 50% of this cash as theirs and give the remaining 50% to the Nigerian publishers i.e the owners of blogs and YouTube creators.

While services like Facebook take the whole $1 billion provide the ads to Nigerian users on Instagram and Facebook.

Amazing right, well not yet. Think about how many Nigerian companies from Telecommunications to daily consumable goods like close-up have paid these American companies for the attention of the Nigerian audience.
