But do we have the enabling environment to manufacture? I feel its way cheaper to import than to produce(eg. petroleum products)
no it is way cheaper to produce than to import petroleum products
.
The four refineries in
Nigeria have a combined
production capacity of
445,000 barrels per day
while the country’s daily
output of crude is put at
2.44m barrels per day as of
February 2015, according to
the US energy information
administration.
.
According to a Vanguard’s
January 6 th 2015 article , the
sum of N10trillion was
spent on subsidy between
2006 and December 2013.
Much of the shortfall in
excess crude account was
used to pay oil marketers.
This amount is more than
Nigeria’s two-year budget
figure, three times the
budget allocation for health,
and two times budget
allocation for education in
the 2014 fiscal year.
.
subsidy is a scam

but the FG is nt ready to support innoson
that is the problem. our corrupt politicians earn more to their personal pocket when people import vehicles, forgeting that we are enriching other countries, most of them buy hummer jeep, ross-royce and porche, this vehicles cost a whole lot to maintain and repair because they have no company in nigeria, plus low market.
.
this has been the issue with fuel subsidy, instead of building new refinery and repairing the old ones, we decide to pay fuel subsidy for it to be refined abroad, a good example is a farmer producing cassava only for him to sell it to somebody, then go back to buy garri frm the person, nw the person will make more profit frm the cassava waste also e.g starch.

nobody is buying expensively. the fund for the machines will be released at the official rate of N197 to $1 by the CBN since we dont have import restriction on them, since there is no alternative in nigeria.

And do you think this government is that responsible and responsive?
